Hill-Evans announces $3 million state grant to York County

HARRISBURG, Sept. 12 – State Rep. Carol Hill-Evans, D-York, today announced a $3 million state grant that will support the Primary Crusher Replacement Project in York County from the state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.

 

The Magnesita Refactories Co. was awarded this grant for the construction of a new facility and infrastructure to house and operate new crushing equipment, including concrete foundations and structural steel for the Magnesita’s York facility. Funds will also support the installations of belt conveyers with steel supports, a material transfer tower, electrical pad and other equipment.

 

“Congratulations to our district for being awarded funds to support a vital project within our community.” Hill-Evans said. “We are looking forward to seeing a local business thrive based upon the valuable investment made by our state. This is just another reason why York is a great place to live and work.”

 

RACP is administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. RACP projects are authorized in the Redevelopment Assistance section of a Capital Budget Itemization Act, have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact, and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues or other measures of economic activity.
