Hanbidge announces $50K grant for North Montco Tech Career Center

HARRISBURG, Dec. 20 – State Rep. Liz Hanbidge, D-Montgomery, today announced that a $50,000 Career and Technical Education grant has been awarded to North Montco Tech Career Center.

“Excellent career opportunities are waiting for North Montco tech students,” Hanbidge said. “This grant will help ensure that students have more access to a greater breadth of equipment to learn with and will make them more career ready for high-demand, well-paying careers. This grant is a direct investment in our youth and their earning potential, and I couldn’t be happier to see this investment being made in our kids and their futures.”

North Montco Tech Career Center will be receiving the following: 10-burner deck stove; 6-burner deck stove; basic pneumatics learning system; electro-pneumatics learning system; electrical wiring learning system; VFD/PLC wiring learning system; mechanical fabrication learning system; mechanical drive learning system; PLC motor control learning system; AC machine engine and BCM diagnostic scanner.

This CTE grant is one of 32 competitive grants that have been awarded across the state for the purchase of new equipment aligned to training students for high-demand jobs.

Nearly $1.2 million has been awarded to help technical schools purchase equipment that will provide hands-on training to students in high-demand programs.
