Guenst: Trout Season Opens April 5

As a member of the PA House Game & Fisheries Committee and an avid angler herself, Pa. state Rep. Nancy Guenst knows how important trout fishing is across the commonwealth. Guenst joined Fish & Boat Commission conservation officers and volunteers to stock trout in the Pennypack Creek. Every year the PFBC raises 3.2 million trout in its statewide hatchery system. Trout season officially opens April 5, but kids can get an early start on Mentored Youth Trout Day, March 29. Funds from the purchase of fishing licenses pay for stocking and all trout stocking events are open to the public. There are hundreds of sporting goods and bait and tackle shops across Pa. where you can purchase a license or go to www.fishandboat.com to buy online and check out stocking schedules.
