Dear Neighbor,
We have recently switched to a new email program. For those who have previously received our emails, much of what you see will look familiar. For those who are new, welcome! I send out weekly emails to update residents on local and state issues that impact our communities. If you are interested in receiving these emails each week, please click here to subscribe.
In our newsletter, you will find legislative information and updates from Upper Moreland, Lower Moreland, Bryn Athyn, Hatboro, and Abington, along with information about state-related programs and services.
We have some exciting events coming up around the district, so be sure to stay informed through my newsletter and social media. As always, feel free to call our office at 215-259-5962 for help with state services or send me an email at Repguenst@pahouse.net.

Calling Veterans of Battle of the Bulge, their families, friends, and acquaintances! – My fellow Representative Chris Pielli’s Resolution 275 honors Pennsylvania's significant involvement in the Battle of the Bulge for its 80th anniversary in December 2024.
Please consider participating in this survey (link below) to help commemorate the heroism and sacrifice of the 28th Infantry Division of the PA Army National Guard during the Battle.
https://survey123.arcgis.com/.../5c2c5c84cc9446ed92298abd...
The survey requests history and memories of the Battle. If you, a family member, or an acquaintance who served during the Battle, please complete the survey with details, locations, photos, and stories.

Governor Shapiro Immediately Redirecting Funding to SEPTA
|
In response to SEPTA's pressing financial crisis, Governor Shapiro announced Friday, at a press conference in Philadelphia, that PennDOT will be redirecting (referred to as flexing) $153 million of federal highway capital funds to SEPTA immediately. This action allows for continued service and for SEPTA to avoid immediate service cuts and delay more significant fare increases until July 1, 2025.
Although it will provide immediate relief, this is not a long-term solution. It does give the Legislature time to fully consider different proposals to fund mass transit and finally take necessary legislative action to address this critical need for the people of Pennsylvania.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Now Open for Enrollment
|
LIHEAP provides cash grants to help PA families pay their heating bills. Both renters and homeowners are eligible for benefits, and you do not need to be on another public assistance program or have unpaid heating bills to qualify.
You must meet income requirements to qualify for LIHEAP.
You can either apply on COMPASS or through a paper application in our office. We are happy to assist in the process.
If applying in our office, you will need to bring in:
- a recent bill (within 2 months from the application date) from your main heating source and 2.) Proof of household income for each household member. You will also need the Social Security number for each household member. Documents can include pay stubs, award letters, employer statements, or other forms of verification.
Stop by our office today for assistance in applying for the LIHEAP grant!

What a beautiful day to ring in the Holiday season! It was sunny but windy as we took our stroll down York Road, along with the Phillie Phanatic, Marching Bands, firetrucks from several communities, and floats from other organizations around the area. Santa and Mrs. Claus even made an appearance! I love seeing so many familiar faces and celebrating the holiday season with so many of you.

EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) Scholarships Awarded to Montco Families
|
The Bridge Educational Foundation announced EITC scholarships to families in Montgomery County. I am pleased to announce that many families receiving these scholarships reside in our 152nd District. These funds were made possible through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program. I was fortunate enough to meet one of the families who received these scholarships and speak to them about what this means to their families. It is always wonderful to see legislation at work - supporting families and communities in the district!

Holiday Donation Drive with Prothonotary’s Office & Victims Service Center

The “Inspire and Empower” drive is accepting new arts and crafts supplies as well as educational and sensory toys to be distributed this holiday season to child survivors of sexual abuse and other violent crimes. The holidays can be a difficult time for trauma survivors, but the outpouring of the community’s generosity and support provides light and joy to children and their families.
We will be partnering with the Prothonotary’s Office and the Victims Service Center, to run this special Holiday Drive. Our office will serve as a collection site so please feel free to drop donations at your convenience during our open business hours of 9 am-4 pm Monday-Friday.
