HARRISBURG, Jan. 7 – Today state Rep. Roni Green, D-Phila., along with 202 of her colleagues, took the oath of office in the state Capitol to officially begin the 2025-26 legislative session.
Green, whose district includes the neighborhoods of Wynnefield Heights, Allegheny West, Glenwood and East and West Parkside, said she was honored to once again be representing her neighbors in Harrisburg.
“We have a great community, and I am honored to once again be representing my neighbors in Harrisburg,” said Green. “We have a lot of work to do to address some of the systemic issues impacting our neighborhoods and I will continue to fight to uplift the communities and families I represent. I will prioritize and continue to lead, build and advocate for our constituents who need my help with a fresh start and remove barriers that has prevented them from obtaining and living a productive life for themselves, their families and their communities by hosting record clearing clinics.”
Green said her priorities during the term will be raising the minimum wage and fighting for a living wage, and building on successes over the last several years including historic increases in school funding to adequately renovate school buildings and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed, tackling increased childcare costs and grappling with gun violence in Philadelphia through legislation and life-skills programs.
Green’s office can help with a variety of state-related services, including home heating assistance, children’s health insurance, prescription drug and Property Tax/Rent Rebate assistance.
