Phipps awarded $380,000 grant to help fund renovations

Funding made available through Allegheny gaming grant program

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 14 – State Rep. Dan Frankel, today announced that Phipps Conservancy and Botanical Gardens has been awarded a $380,000 grant to help fund infrastructure and structural roof repairs.

“I was pleased to see this investment in our community through the gaming grant program,” Frankel said. “In normal times, Phipps is a key a regional attraction, and a touchstone for our broader community as well. By investing in these necessary repairs today, we are helping to preserve this cultural treasure for future generations.”

In addition to Phipps, grants were also awarded to:

Melon Wash, $100,000 for exterior renovations to the 5333 Beeler Street property and;

Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, $100,000 for facility improvements.
