Flynn begins second term in state House

HARRISBURG, Jan. 6 – State Rep. Marty Flynn today began his second term in the state House of Representatives.

The swearing-in ceremony at the state Capitol marked the official start of the 2015-16 legislative session. The state constitution mandates the legislature to begin each new session at noon on the first Tuesday of January.

"I’m revved up and ready to get to work with my House colleagues and Governor-elect Tom Wolf and his new administration to help the hardworking men and women in Pennsylvania, many of whom have been forgotten during the past four years," said Flynn, D-Lackawanna. "I look forward to the cooperation that will need to occur on many issues between the Republican majorities in the House and Senate and the Wolf administration including property tax relief, funding for education, and more appropriate pension funding relief."

Flynn encourages people to visit his Scranton constituent service office at 409 N. Main Ave., Jay’s Commons. The office, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, can be reached at 570-342-4348. His staff can help with a variety of state-related services, including PennDOT paperwork, PACE/PACENET applications and beginning in March Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program applications.
