Flynn: $24K to Outreach Center for Community Resources
LACKAWANNA, March 10 – State Rep. Marty Flynn, D-Lackawanna, has been instrumental in securing a $24,337 grant for the Outreach Center for Community Resources in Scranton from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.
Flynn said the organization serves the community through evidence-based programs and services that promote family stability and economic self-sufficiency.
“This organization provides many programs to children and families so they can enjoy a better way of life by surviving and thriving in the community,” Flynn said.
The Nonprofit Security Grant Fund is administered by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and was set up by Act 83 of 2019. It came about as the result of the Tree of Life shootings in Pittsburgh in 2018.
A year after that tragedy, Flynn voted yes to the bill setting up the grant program. This is the second year in which the grants have been awarded to nonprofit organizations in Pennsylvania.
