Delloso announces $100K state grant

Grant provides partial funding to upgrade athletic fields

HARRISBURG, April 22 – Eyeing the need to invest in recreational opportunities for children in the district, state Rep. David Delloso, D-Delaware, announced the Commonwealth Financing Authority approved a $100,000 state grant for Ridley United Soccer Club to upgrade its athletic fields.

“It’s rewarding to see the state step in to award partial funding for this sizable but valuable undertaking to improve athletic fields in our district,” Delloso said. “This grant is an investment in our youth.”

The grant was part of the Act 13 Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program. The state awarded more than 40 grants statewide Wednesday through the program.

Act 13 of 2012 established the Marcellus Legacy Fund and allocates funds to the CFA for planning, acquisition, development, rehabilitation and repair of greenways, recreational trails, open space, parks and beautification projects using the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program.
