RIDLEY PARK, Nov. 16 – State Rep. Dave Delloso, D-Delaware, helped announce more than $9 million in state Safe School grants, with more than $200,000 headed to schools in Delaware County.
The Pennsylvania Department of Education awarded the competitive grants to prevent and reduce violent incidents, to purchase safety and security-related equipment, and to provide training and compensation of school resource and police officers.
“School safety will always be a priority,” Delloso said. “The Department of Education continues to work with our local school districts to find the funds needed to put the necessary safeguards in place to protect children.”
