Delloso announces more than $200,000 in grants for Delco schools

RIDLEY PARK, Nov. 16 – State Rep. Dave Delloso, D-Delaware, helped announce more than $9 million in state Safe School grants, with more than $200,000 headed to schools in Delaware County.

The Pennsylvania Department of Education awarded the competitive grants to prevent and reduce violent incidents, to purchase safety and security-related equipment, and to provide training and compensation of school resource and police officers.

“School safety will always be a priority,” Delloso said. “The Department of Education continues to work with our local school districts to find the funds needed to put the necessary safeguards in place to protect children.” 

The local grants announced include:

• Intermediate Unit 25, more than $200,000 for 10 nonpublic schools.
