Delloso to host free shred event Saturday
Rep. David M. Delloso September 28, 2020 | 4:27 PM
RIDLEY PARK, Sept. 28 – State Rep. David Delloso will host a free shred event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Interboro High School student parking lot. The parking lot can be accessed off West Amosland Road.
The shred event is free to all residents. The event will also have members of the Delaware County District Attorney’s drug take-back team collecting and disposing of old and unused prescription medications to help combat the opioid and addiction epidemic.
“I’m excited to host another free shred event with the hope that hundreds of local residents will take advantage of this opportunity to decrease their potential of becoming the victim of identity theft,” Delloso said. “Shred events are typically one of our more popular events, allowing hundreds of residents and neighbors to safely dispose of personal papers and documents.”
Residents are asked to limit their paper documents to two boxes. No electronic devices will be accepted at this event, however, Delloso’s office is looking forward to hosting another shred and electronic waste event – like he did in July – in the spring or summer.
To protect the health and safety of the public, the event will be run like a drive-through in the student parking lot to make it as contact-free as possible. All residents are asked to wear a mask when dropping off their paper documents or if they wish to interact with Delloso and his staff. Residents are asked to pop the trunk of their vehicle and Delloso or a staff member will unload the documents for shredding.
Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer has agreed to bring his drug take-back team to the event, and drop boxes for old or unused medication will be available on-site.
