Grant will be used to fund refrigeration truck for anti-hunger program
Rep. Scott Conklin October 27, 2022 | 12:02 PM
PHILIPSBURG, Oct. 27 – State Rep. Scott Conklin, D-Centre, today presented the Moshannon Valley YMCA with a $140,000 state grant to help the YMCA purchase a refrigeration truck to continue its anti-hunger program in Centre County.
“Funding for this new mobile food truck means workers will be able to distribute fresh, nutritious food to those in the community who might not otherwise have access to it,” Conklin said. “I’ve long supported the Moshannon Valley YMCA, and I was happy that I was able to work with them to make this happen.”
In addition to his work to promote good government and education, Conklin has also worked to end hunger in communities, including supporting calls to re-establish the free school lunch program for public school children.
