Conklin: Centre County victim services organization receives grant to help children and elderly victims of domestic violence
CENTRE COUNTY, Sept. 13 – Centre Safe in Centre County will receive a $25,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to assist in its efforts to help victims of domestic violence, state Rep. Scott Conklin, D-Centre, announced today.
Conklin said the Victims of Crime Act funding from PCCD will help the center to continue providing timely and appropriate services for children and elderly victims of domestic violence.
“These providers do so much to help victims recover and heal in the aftermath of crime, ensuring they receive the services they need and deserve, including emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and so much more,” Conklin said. “I’m pleased PCCD has provided these funds to support Centre Safe and the work they do each and every day to assist victims.”
PCCD provides planning, coordination and technical assistance to the state’s criminal justice system and serves as a clearinghouse for state and federal grants to support criminal and juvenile justice efforts, including supporting victims of crime.
