Comitta applauds safe reopening of real estate industry statewide

WEST CHESTER, May 19 – State Rep. Carolyn Comitta, D-Chester, expressed her support for Gov. Tom Wolf’s announcement today that real estate services may resume throughout the commonwealth while following strict safety guidelines.

Comitta noted that she could not support legislation that sought to reopen the industry without outlining specific safety protocols, so she worked with her colleagues, the Wolf administration and the Pennsylvania Department of Health to ensure that proper protections are in place for real estate clients and employees. This includes minimizing in-person contact, staggering property showings, wearing masks/face coverings and exercising appropriate social distancing.

“Shelter is a life-sustaining entity, so I’m pleased to see the governor loosening restrictions for the real estate industry,” Comitta said. “The guidelines that are in place would preserve the health and safety of our residents while gradually working toward reopening Pennsylvania and getting residents back to work. Even though Chester County remains in the ‘red phase’ this is a huge, positive step forward for our community and our commonwealth.”
