Comitta announces school safety grants awarded to Goshen Friends School and St. Maximillian Kolbe School

WEST CHESTER, Oct. 18 –State Rep. Carolyn Comitta, D-Chester, announced that Goshen Friends School and St. Maximillian Kolbe School are recipients of the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s School Safety grants.

The money is part of the $7.3 million in competitive grants that were awarded to schools statewide to prevent and reduce violent incidents, purchase safety and security-related equipment, and to provide training and compensation of school resource and police officers.

Goshen Friends School was awarded a $7,819 equipment grant and St. Maximillian Kolbe School was awarded a $20,186 equipment grant.

“As a former teacher, I am so thankful that these funds are benefitting and protecting students right here in Chester County,” Comitta said. “The safety of our children is of the utmost importance, and I am pleased that these two schools are creating the safest learning environments possible.”
