Burgos introduces legislation to prevent Russian businesses from profiting off medical cannabis industry in Pa.

HARRISBURG, May 3 – State Rep. Danilo Burgos, D-Phila., introduced legislation that would revoke medical cannabis licenses for entities with ties to Russian businesses.

This legislation would ensure that Russian businesses cannot profit off the medical cannabis industry in Pennsylvania. It will urge the Department of Health to investigate if any medical cannabis businesses in Pennsylvania have financial ties to Russian businesses and, if so, revoke their medical cannabis permits.

“It is crucial that we work as a body to ensure no Pennsylvania government programs are utilized to benefit those who are complicit in the Russian war effort,” Burgos said.  “We must take every effort to support Ukraine in their struggle against this unprovoked Russian invasion.”
