John Gonoude and Tracy Yatsko are both student athletes who have suffered concussions and joined Briggs to speak out about the importance of awareness when it comes to concussions.

Yatsko, a basketball player from Tamaqua, suffered a concussion coming down from a rebound and hitting her head on the top of another player’s. Two days later she returned to play and ended up passing out after the game. Since then, her life has been filled with hospital visits, emergency rooms and debilitating migraines.

Gonoude, an Upper Merion High School senior, suffered a concussion during his sophomore year while playing football. He returned to play too soon and was later rushed to the hospital with brain swelling.
