Rep. Tim Briggs December 18, 2025 | 1:33 PM
HARRISBURG, Dec. 18 – State Rep. Tim Briggs today announced the awarding of more than $1 million in Local Share Account grants to support community, recreation, transportation, and economic development projects.
“These investments will make a real difference in our communities—enhancing public spaces, improving safety and accessibility, supporting local arts, and strengthening our trail and transportation networks,” Briggs said. “I’m proud to help deliver these resources to projects that residents will enjoy for years to come.”
The grants were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority using LSA funds generated under the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act. These funds support projects that serve the public interest in communities across the Commonwealth.
Funded projects in the 149th Legislative District and surrounding areas include:
- Ardmore Initiative Streetscape Wrap Program (Lower Merion Township) – $28,471
The Ardmore Initiative will install vinyl art wraps featuring work by local artists on township-owned utility boxes and disposal bins throughout the Ardmore Business District. The project will beautify public spaces, promote local arts, and help deter vandalism.
- Memorial Park Playground and Parking Lot Improvements (Bridgeport Borough) – $546,000
Bridgeport Borough will upgrade Memorial Park with new playground and exercise equipment, seating, accessibility features, canopy trees, and a redesigned parking lot to improve pedestrian safety and create a more welcoming community gathering space.
- Moore Road Trail – Pedestrian Bridge, Phase 1 (Upper Merion Township) – $100,000
This funding will support construction of a new pedestrian bridge and trail improvements as part of the Moore Road Multiuse Trail and Linear Park, increasing safety and strengthening connections within the township’s growing trail network.
- Valley Forge Gateway Trail (Upper Merion Township) – $500,000
The project will construct approximately 1,500 linear feet of ADA-compliant multi-use trail within Valley Forge National Historical Park, closing a critical gap and improving access between the park, nearby trails, and local destinations.
- North Gulph Road Trail Extension (Upper Merion Township) – $148,375
Funding through the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program will support the extension of the North Gulph Road Trail, improving connectivity within the regional trail network and enhancing safe, accessible recreational and transportation options for residents.
Briggs also thanked state Sen. Amanda Cappelletti for her partnership and support in securing the funding.
“Senator Cappelletti has been a strong advocate for Montgomery County communities, and I appreciate her collaboration in helping these important projects move forward,” Briggs said.
“These grants reflect our shared commitment to investing gaming revenues back into local communities in meaningful ways,” Briggs added. “From neighborhood parks to regional trails, these projects will enhance quality of life and help our communities thrive.”
Briggs represents the 149th Legislative District, which is comprised of Bridgeport, West Conshohocken, Upper Merion and parts of Lower Merion in Montgomery County.
