Rep. Bizzarro teamed up with state Sen. Rob Teplitz to reintroduce their legislation that would establish veterans' treatment courts statewide. Bizzarro's H.B. 887 would institute a veterans' court in any county without one, and would also allow counties to band together to create joint courts. Veterans' courts not only help rehabilitate veterans suffering from service-related cases of addiction or mental illness, but they also save counties significant amounts in incarceration costs. Also joining Bizzarro were state Reps. Marty Flynn, Kevin Schreiber, and Thomas Murt; Kristy Wills, former participant and current mentor in the York County Veterans' Treatment Court; and several veteran mentors.
