Bizzarro: growing local business target of new state funding

Tax credit to boost business growth, expand opportunities

HARRISBURG, May 6 – Erie-based meterEZ will receive $30,555 in state funding to support continued growth and innovation, according to state Rep. Ryan Bizzarro.

“This investment is about creating more opportunities and helping local businesses grow,” said Bizzarro, who represents Fairview and Millcreek townships. “We’re focused on strengthening our workforce, supporting innovation, and making sure local businesses in our region have the tools they need to succeed in a challenging economic climate.”

Launched by the Erie Parking Authority in 2018, meterEZ allowed pay-by-phone options for drivers to pay for parking without relying on coins.

The Pennsylvania Department of Economic Development approved the tax credit for meterEZ through the Keystone Innovation Zone tax credit program, which supports businesses as they scale and create jobs. The $30,555 tax credit will allow meterEZ to enhance its marketing and promotional efforts as well as improve tech innovation. Find the statewide list of tax credit recipients here.

Bizzarro has continued his career-long track record of prioritizing funding for local projects through state investments. During this legislative session, Bizzarro has helped secure more than $50.2 million in state funding for projects and services across the community.
