Bizzarro invites residents to informational rebate event

Bizzarro and his team will explain Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program Feb. 29

ERIE, Feb. 22 – During the last year, Pennsylvania expanded the eligibility requirements for its valuable Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program, opening the door for as many as 175,000 more people across the state to receive rebates on property taxes and rent paid in 2023. The expansion and program updates will also include larger rebates for local residents.

In order to prepare first-time and returning applicants for the changes, state Rep. Ryan Bizzarro and his team will host an informational event from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 29 at the Millcreek Township Building.

Bizzarro and his team will explain how changes may affect residents and what they should expect in terms of rebates this year.

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is a state program that benefits seniors (ages 65 and older); widows and widowers (ages 50 and older); and people with disabilities. It provides rebates to people for rent and property taxes paid in the previous year.

“We are hosting this event to familiarize residents with the larger rebates that are available and the new eligibility requirements, but we also want to let people know how important it is to apply as soon as possible,” Bizzarro said. “Many of our residents depend on this rebate check, so we want them to know that if they visit us and apply now they may be able to lessen the time it takes for the Department of Revenue to process their application.”

Bizzarro and his team will explain the eligibility requirements and all the forms needed to complete a successful application to the program. Bizzarro and his team will not be processing applications at this event, but his team will provide residents with the best time and places to find staff ready and able to process all the paperwork they need to apply.

If you cannot attend the event or would like to learn more information about eligibility requirements or details about this program, Bizzarro and his team can be reached at RepBizzarro@pahouse.net and 814-835-2880.
