BIZZARRO: Veteran’s Assistance Program returns to Erie County

Monthly program put on hiatus due to pandemic is back

ERIE, Oct. 20 – The pandemic put a halt to many in-person events and programs, including the Veteran’s Assistance Program in Erie County. This Thursday, Rep. Ryan Bizzarro, D-Erie, brings the program back.

“Our Veteran’s Assistance Program that we hold every third Thursday of every month is back!” said Bizzarro. “Bringing a Veteran Service Officer into our office is important for the community and we welcome any and all veterans to stop by.”

A Veteran Service Officer from the VFW will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 at Bizzarro’s district office, located at 1101 Peninsula Drive, Suite 213. Veterans needing assistance with compensation and pension claims, education benefits, VA Health Care System enrollment, burial and survivor benefits, state benefits, and more are all welcome.

According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, there are nearly 19,000 military veterans who live in Erie County, all of whom are eligible for the services offered by Bizzarro’s Veteran’s Assistance Program.

The program assisted more than 200 veterans during the months prior to the pandemic and promises to help many more in need of assistance. To learn more about the Veteran’s Assistance Program and other programs offered by Bizzarro, visit https://pahouse.com/Bizzarro.
