REP. BIZZARRO: RITE-AID Expands COVID-19 Testing Efforts in Erie

ERIE, April 20 -- State Rep. Ryan Bizzarro, D- Erie, announced that Rite-Aid will expand on-site testing to the 5430 Peach St. location in Erie.

Testing will be available at no cost to eligible individuals. Patients are required to provide a government issues identification, be at least 18 years of age and must pre-register online at www.riteaid.com to schedule a time slot for testing. Tests will not be administered without an appointment.

“I have been working with Rite-Aid and other pharmacies to ramp up testing in our region. Expanding testing capacity will strengthen Erie’s efforts in combating COVID-19. The more testing sites available, the easier it will be for our family, friends and neighbors to get tested and determine a plan of action in getting healthy,” Bizzarro said.

According to Rite aid, testing will take place in via drive-up in the store’s parking lot. A self-swab nasal test will be administered. Eligibility for testing will follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

“As testing expands, and our ability to navigate COVID-19, I still encourage everyone to stay home and stay safe. Going out unnecessarily will only extend the hold this virus has on our community.”

Bizzarro urges residents to visit his website www.pahouse.com/bizzarro - for information on COVID-19.
