ANIMAL PROTECTION CAUCUS RELAUNCH

The dog days of Harrisburg are easier when there are rescue pups visiting the Capitol! The adorableness was on hand for the relaunch of the Animal Protection Caucus. Together we've made great strides to strengthen animal protection laws and I'm looking forward to getting more funding for animal fighting investigations, allowing the Attorney General to assist in the prosecution of animal cruelty cases and more. Remember - adopt, don't shop! More on our work can be found here.

CASH FOR FIRE, EMS COMPANIES AWARDED

Volunteers in Fairview and Millcreek Townships tell me they want to focus on saving lives, but fundraising to keep the doors open makes it harder and harder. Grants to help with that have just been announced for eight local companies, totaling $126,000. Since 2020 I've been able to steer almost $1.3 million to fire and EMS providers in Millcreek and Fairview Townships. Check out the video above from Erie New Now, or you can read the details on the latest grants.

UPCOMING PROPERTY TAX REBATE SESSION

Do you have questions about PA's Property Tax and Rent and Rebate Program? Join me Thursday, February 27th, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Assembly Room of the Millcreek Township Municipal Building, 3608 West 26th Street. I'm hosting a program for first time filers or for anyone looking for additional information. My team will NOT be filling out rebate claims at this event. Constituents are welcome to stop in my district office, located at 1101 Peninsula Drive, Erie, PA 16505, Monday—Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM to have their rebate completed. No appointment is required.

INVESTING IN ERIE: IT'S STATE BUDGET SEASON

February has a lot of competitions stopping or starting - football ends, NASCAR starts, pitchers and catchers report for Spring training. My biggest competition also starts in February: state budget season.

After Governor Shapiro delivers his budget address, it's up to the legislature to figure out how we're going to do the most good with the resources we have. For me it's also jockeying to get Erie County what it needs to succeed. Revitalizing communities, supporting local businesses, helping people afford a home, or land a better job, making their schools better - this is why I'm here. And I'm here to win.

TAX FORMS NOW AVAILABLE

You trust us to have the forms you need. Rest assured, my team has ordered federal, state and local tax forms for your use later this year.

When we receive them, they will be free for all residents to stop by and pick up at our office in Millcreek. We will notify you here and through social media channels when they arrive and are available.

THIS IS WHAT WE DO ...

I chair the House Majority Policy Committee. We travel the state to host hearings and roundtable discussions with members of the House.

We bring in experts, advocates, first responders, victims, survivors, taxpayers, workers, executives and professionals, all so that members of the House can hear directly from the people on the front lines.

SAFEGUARDING OUR SCHOOLS

When private for-profit schools and their dark money backers came after Fairview and Millcreek School Districts to siphon off taxpayer dollars to make a profit off taxpayers. I stopped them. We need to protect our high-performing schools!

My team and I deliver for local people & projects. We cut the red tape in Harrisburg to secure the support our region needs.

  • When our schools need funding ...
  • When our police officers need a new vehicle to preserve lives ...
  • When our firefighters need funds for life-saving equipment ...

We delivered to the tune of more than $92 million during the 2023-24 legislative session.

MY TEAM IS IN FAIRVIEW EVERY WEDNESDAY

I wanted to remind folks that my team and I hold Wednesday office hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fairview Township Building, 7471 McCray Road, Fairview, PA 16415.

The cornerstone of my office is service to you, our neighbors. By holding office hours at the township, we're making it easier for folks to reach us, so we can help them.
