GOV. SHAPIRO DELIVERS BUDGET ADDRESS
|
The governor laid out a common-sense spending plan that CUTS TAXES and puts Pennsylvanians first. I was glad to hear my proposed First-Time Homebuyer Grant program in his proposal, which will help cover the closing costs for buying their new home. It’s one of the many initiatives aimed at cutting costs for Pennsylvanians and addressing housing needs.
We also need to make PA a leader in economic development by supporting initiatives presented in the budget proposal that revitalize communities, and find new ways to grow and attract local businesses. This budget will help ensure Pennsylvania has better jobs, better schools and better communities.
It’s now on us in the General Assembly to come together and deliver an equitable budget that puts Pennsylvania at the forefront. I'm ready to do the work you sent me here to do.

It was great to welcome leaders from Erie Insurance, the Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership and Infinite Erie to Harrisburg this week. Now that the governor has delivered his budget vision, it's time for the legislature to get to work crafting a budget. Making sure Erie gets its fair share requires hard work here and at home, and we're ready to get stuff done.

When private for-profit schools and their dark money backers came after Fairview and Millcreek School Districts to siphon off taxpayer dollars to make a profit off taxpayers. I stopped them. We need to protect our high-performing schools!
My team and I deliver for local people & projects. We cut the red tape in Harrisburg to secure the support our region needs.
- When our schools need funding ...
- When our police officers need a new vehicle to preserve lives ...
- When our firefighters need funds for life-saving equipment ...
We delivered to the tune of more than $92 million during the 2023-24 legislative session.
