EMPOWERING BIRTH JOURNEYS! EXPANDING HORIZONS, EMPOWERING LIVES!

By expanding doula services, healthcare providers can offer more comprehensive and personalized care to pregnant individuals, addressing their unique needs and preferences. Doulas also play a vital role in advocating for patients' rights, ensuring they receive respectful and culturally sensitive maternity care.

Moreover, research suggests that doula support leads to lower rates of cesarean sections, shorter labor durations, and decreased likelihood of experiencing postpartum depression. These outcomes not only improve maternal and infant health but also reduce healthcare costs associated with unnecessary medical interventions and complications.

Incorporating doula services into maternity care models can promote holistic, patient-centered approaches that prioritize the well-being and autonomy of expectant parents. By investing in and expanding doula services, healthcare systems can advance equity, inclusivity, and quality of care across diverse communities.

Email Body:

I have recently heard that the Pennsylvania Black Maternal Health Caucus announced their new legislation called the MOMnibus Act. This series of bills addresses several factors that contribute to mortality and morbidities of Black mothers in the state of Pennsylvania and throughout the United States.

I strongly urge you to take action by joining the PA Black Maternal Health Caucus and voting YES to support the MOMnibus Act, aimed at improving Black Maternal Health outcomes in Pennsylvania.

I appreciate your help and ask that you please send me a response letting me know if you will support the Pennsylvania Black Maternal Health Caucus and any future House Bills that inherently support and protect the lives and wellbeing of Black mothers and birthing people in Pennsylvania. When you address the issues of Black maternal health you address issues for all maternal health.

Sincerely,
