By providing maternal and newborn supply kits, PA can support mothers and babies during the critical period of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. These kits can include essential items such as prenatal vitamins, maternity clothing, diapers, baby clothing, blankets, breastfeeding supplies, and hygiene products for both mother and baby.

Ensuring access to these supplies helps to address disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes by providing support to mothers who may face financial or logistical barriers to obtaining essential items. It also promotes equity in healthcare by ensuring that all mothers and babies have access to the same level of care and support, regardless of their socioeconomic status.

I have recently heard that the Pennsylvania Black Maternal Health Caucus announced their new legislation called the MOMnibus Act. This series of bills addresses several factors that contribute to mortality and morbidities of Black mothers in the state of Pennsylvania and throughout the United States.  

I strongly urge you to take action by joining the PA Black Maternal Health Caucus and voting YES to support the MOMnibus Act, aimed at improving Black Maternal Health outcomes in Pennsylvania.
