NURTURING MINDS, UPLIFTING HEARTS: ELEVATING MENTAL HEALTH CARE FOR EXPECTANT AND NEW MOMS!

By prioritizing mental health care, PA can help address the unique needs and concerns of expectant and new moms, offering tailored support and interventions to promote emotional well-being and resilience. This can include access to counseling services, support groups, and educational resources on coping strategies, stress management, and self-care practices.

Investing in mental health care for expectant and new moms can also help prevent and address perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, such as postpartum depression and anxiety, which affect a significant number of women during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Early identification and intervention are key to effectively managing these conditions and reducing their impact on maternal and infant health.

Email Body:

I have recently heard that the Pennsylvania Black Maternal Health Caucus announced their new legislation called the MOMnibus Act. This series of bills addresses several factors that contribute to mortality and morbidities of Black mothers in the state of Pennsylvania and throughout the United States.

I strongly urge you to take action by joining the PA Black Maternal Health Caucus and voting YES to support the MOMnibus Act, aimed at improving Black Maternal Health outcomes in Pennsylvania.

I appreciate your help and ask that you please send me a response letting me know if you will support the Pennsylvania Black Maternal Health Caucus and any future House Bills that inherently support and protect the lives and wellbeing of Black mothers and birthing people in Pennsylvania. When you address the issues of Black maternal health you address issues for all maternal health.

Sincerely,
