Rep. Austin Davis appointed to four House committees

HARRISBURG, Feb. 6 – Newly elected state Rep. Austin Davis, D-Allegheny, has been appointed to four House committees.

Davis, who represents the 35th District, was assigned to the Game and Fisheries Committee, Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, Commerce Committee, and Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee for the 2017-18 legislative session.

“Being named to these committees really helps to catapult me in helping to address the needs of the people of Pennsylvania,” Davis said. “I am anxious to get to work on addressing important issues, and particularly through these four panels.”

Davis said he is excited to serve on all committees, including the Commerce Committee because of his dedication to economic development and job creation.

In addition to better jobs, David said public safety, transportation and quality education are equally important to him. His platform falls in line with the Pennsylvania House Democrat’s Plan for PA, which puts people first through good jobs, quality schools and fair taxes.

On Monday, Davis was sworn in for his first legislative session. His district includes McKeesport, Munhall, White Oak, Clairton, Duquesne, Versailles and South Versailles, Whitaker, Lincoln, and parts of West Mifflin.
