Davis hosts successful license plate replacement event

McKEESPORT, Sept. 16 – State Rep. Austin Davis, D-Allegheny, held a free event Thursday in White Oak to help Mon Valley drivers replace their worn or damaged Pennsylvania license plates.

A license plate is illegible for replacement when one or more numbers or letters cannot be recognized from 50 feet away, or if the plate is blistered, peeling, discolored or loses reflectivity, according to PennDOT.

“I wanted to make the process of replacing unreadable license plates as convenient as possible for folks in the Mon Valley,” Davis said. “I’m pleased to provide an opportunity to bring together under one roof assistance for drivers in filling out the proper paperwork and of law enforcement officers to verify the need for a replacement plate.”

Davis partnered with Allegheny County Police and held the free event at Rainbow Volunteer Fire Co. The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office also collected expired or unused medications at the event.
