Schreiber seeks students for Collegiate Advisory Council
YORK, Sept. 19 - State Rep. Kevin Schreiber, D-York, today announced he is looking for college students attending York-area colleges and universities to participate on a newly formed Collegiate Advisory Council.
Schreiber said the goal of the council is to create a platform for college students in the Metropolitan York area to research, recommend and advocate for policy initiatives pertinent to the 95th Legislative District, York County and Pennsylvania.
“The student members of the council will have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the legislative process and local issues important to the district and the commonwealth,” Schreiber said.
Nine student members will be appointed to the council for a one-year term and they will work with members of Schreiber’s staff, who will provide support and guidance.
Council members will meet at least once a month with Rep. Schreiber and members of his staff to discuss current legislative issues and create a report containing legislative policy or programmatic recommendations for consideration and potential implementation. The Collegiate Advisory Council is intended to continue annually and subsequent student members will expand upon the original work.
Interested applicants must submit a resume, a statement outlining their interest in the council and a professional or academic reference to Kyle Joines at email@example.com.
Schreiber said he hopes the council members chosen by October 1st so the council can start meeting in late October.
