Mr. James H. Miller Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer

PPL Corporation
Two North Ninth Street
Allentown, PA 18101

Dear Mr. Miller:

I am writing to express my concern over the impact of the proposed Susquehanna-Roseland Power Line. Specifically, two of the three proposed routes – A and B – run directly through my legislative district. The Boroughs of Courtdale and West Wyoming, and the Townships of Exeter, Jackson, and Kingston could all be directly affected by any installation of new structures or reconfiguration of existing ones.

These municipalities, since 2006, have been subjected to near continual flooding. My concern is that any kind of construction, on the Back Mountain in particular, could only worsen this already dangerous situation. Due to the flooding, land usage has become an issue of great consequence in my district. Maintaining the integrity of basins, watersheds, and run-off areas is of critical importance to the residents of these areas.

I have spent countless hours working with municipalities, watershed groups, and the Department of Environmental Protection in order to help mitigate future flooding. We have made, and continue to make, significant progress to that end. I fear that any substantive alteration of the landscape, aside from flood mitigation measures, could stunt that progress, or, worse yet, cause additional problems.

Thank you for your consideration of this letter.

Sincerely,

Rep. Phyllis Mundy
