Dear Neighbor,
Today is the Spring Equinox, and I hope it’s the start of a pleasant season for you and your family. Spring is a time for renewal, and my office has planned some events for the coming months along that theme:
Tomorrow (Saturday, March 21) is our Shred & Drug Take-Back Event at Norwood Fire Company, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. If you have old paperwork piling up, bring it out and we’ll make sure it’s shredded and recycled the right way. If you’ve got unused medications, Delco DA Tanner Rouse is bringing the Mobile Drug Van to collect and dispose of them safely.

Wednesday, April 1 is our SEPTA Senior Fare Card Event with Sen. Kearney and his team, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Ridley Park Borough Hall. We can help you see if you’re eligible for the pass that lets you ride SEPTA buses and regional rail for free, and walk you through the application process.
We can also fill you in on the new SEPTA Bus Network that will roll out in phases, starting in August.
I’m happy to report that these changes will improve service; the first phase will add 2 new bus routes, extend some routes and improve frequency of popular routes. More details are below.
Lastly, on Wednesday, May 20 we’re again partnering with Sen. Kearney’s team, this time for a Property Tax/Rent Rebate Event at the School House Senior Center in Folsom, from noon to 3 p.m. We’ll help you see if you qualify and can walk you through the application process.
These programs are there to help, and you deserve to take advantage of them. My job is to make sure you can.
Sincerely,
|
Pennsylvania State Rep. David M. Delloso

SEPTA announces new Bus Network
|
As I mentioned above, SEPTA announced last week it has redesigned its bus system and will roll out the new network and schedule geographically in phases, starting this coming August. The first phase will add 2 new bus routes, extend some routes and improve frequency of popular routes. The number of high-frequency bus routes that run every 15 minutes or better will increase from 8 to 29 by the end of the phase-in, and more mid-day, late night, and weekend service will be added to many routes by the end of phase 1.
Details on each of the three phases, including maps – the one below shows some of the changes coming during phase 2 – are here on SEPTA’s website.

Observing Read Across America Day
|
It will come as no surprise to many of you that my favorite days on this job are the ones that take me out of the Capitol and into our community. On March 2nd, Read Across America Day, I got to visit kids at two of our local schools and read them stories.
The students at Sharon Hill Elementary are always amazed to hear I once sat in their school’s classrooms as a student, too. These third graders were excellent and attentive company!
|
The second graders over at Darby Township School also kept me on my toes with their questions about the story and about my work as a state representative. Kids are honest, curious, and they don’t miss a thing.
|
Thank you to the teachers and staff for inviting me in to be part of their day – I treasure every chance I get to spend time with our young neighbors.
