Take the Transportation Survey

The prospect of leasing the Pennsylvania Turnpike is a volatile issue across the state. Recently, Gov. Ed Rendell announced a winning bid from Abertis/Citigroup Infrastructure of $12.8 billion to lease the turnpike for 75 years. This money would pay for Pennsylvania's current infrastructure needs.

However, before this lease can take effect, it must be approved by the state House and Senate. Before I vote, I would like to hear your opinion on the leasing concept and other available options.

Please take a moment to answer the following questions:

1. Do you support leasing the Pennsylvania Turnpike to a private entity to pay for our transportation infrastructure needs?
Yes
No

2. Would you support leaving the Turnpike under the control of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and allowing the Commission to increase tolls as they see fit to cover the cost of our transportation infrastructure needs?
Yes
No

3. Would you support tolling I-80?
Yes
No

4. Would you support increasing Pennsylvania's tax on gasoline?
Yes
No

5. Would you support an increase of vehicle registration or license renewal fees (however, fees alone cannot cover the monetary need to repair our infrastructure)?
Yes
No

6. Do you have any ideas for raising the billions of dollars needed for Pennsylvania's transportation infrastructure needs?
